On December 16th, 2010, the Deep River Board of Selectman commissioned the Deep River Firehouse Study Committee to review and evaluate the current and future fire fighting/protection needs for our community for both now and in the future. We are a group of Deep River residents and is our mission to inform townspeople of the reasons behind the need for expanded firehouse space, we want to hear your opinions as we try to find a middle ground that will be beneficial to all. The Committee will be looking at, but not limited to; replacing the existing building, adding on to the
existing building or consolidating the two current stations, Union Street and Winthrop.
The Firehouse Study Committee has been busy over the Summer. We have completed our research on possible alternate locations for a firehouse and a detailed analysis matrix on the current firehouse.
Please check back for more information as the Committee moves forward.
**This committee was reactivated at a Board of Selectmen meeting dated April 8, 2014 and new members were appointed.
